  • Luke Slater's label, Mote-Evolver, is about to roll out a new EP series called Planetary Funk 22 Light Years. The name is a reference to the Planetary Funk volumes, a run of EPs released by Peacefrog Records in the '90s under Slater's Planetary Assault Systems alias. The new series, which launches at the end of May, will pair original cuts from those 12-inches with new interpretations from various techno artists that Slater has worked with over the years. The first three-tracker, Planetary Funk 22 Light Years – Part 1, features Slater's 1997 version of "Dungeon" backed by an Ø [Phase] remix, as well as a Ben Sims edit of 1993's "Gated" from the first Planetary Funk A-side. The EP will land on May 27th. Stream clips from Part 1.
