- The retrospective brings together 12 tracks from around the world.
Veronica Vasicka's label Minimal Wave has a new compilation on the way.
The Bedroom Tapes is the 66th Minimal Wave release, and the latest in a series of retrospective compilations that was most recently heard in 2012 with The Minimal Wave Tapes Volume 2. This one, subtitled A Compilation Of Minimal Wave From Around The World (1980-1991), collects "music recorded in the bedroom for listening in the bedroom," according to the announcement. It features rare or unreleased tracks from the '80s and early '90s that have been remastered for the occasion, with appearances from, among others, Autumn, Pink Elln (an alias of Tobias Freund), Unovidual and two Brian Hall projects, Denial and Aural Indifference.
Listen to Denial's cover of The Mamas & The Papas' 1965 pop hit "California Dreaming," before The Bedroom Tapes sees release sometime in spring 2018.
