Phase Fatale will land on Ostgut Ton next month with an EP titled Reverse Fall.
The Berlin-based producer, real name Hayden Payne, will make his Ostgut Ton debut with a record inspired by Crash, the controversial 1973 J. G. Ballard novel whose protagonists fetishize automobile crashes. We're told Reverse Fall is a "slight departure" from Payne's usual output, which blends techno, industrial and EBM sounds, due to its "concentrated focus on techno."
Ostgut Ton's Unterton offshoot enlisted Payne last year for a 12-inch called Anubis, and he's a resident at the label's home base Berghain. His record will follow the new, highly-rated EP from Barker, Debiasing, that artist's own solo Ostgut Ton debut.
A few months ago, Payne launched his own imprint, BITE, alongside Florian Engerling. The label's inaugural release was a collaborative EP from himself and Silent Servant, and its next will be the first Teste record with original material in 25 years.
