After a four-year run, the Manchester promoter will once again leave the car park venue at the end of the 2018 season.
Manchester's The Warehouse Project is leaving its Store Street venue for good after a four-year run.
Cofounders Sam Kandel and Sacha Lord shared the decision in a press release, ahead of the promoter's final season programme announcement. "With Manchester in constant evolution and the zone around Store Street undergoing incredible transformation, our time here is drawing to a natural conclusion," reads the statement. "When WHP returned to Store Street in 2014, it was intended for one season only. Four years later we are calling time. There will be no return."
The first time WHP announced it was leaving Store Street in 2011, Kandel told Resident Advisor: "The atmosphere that is generated at Store Street across those three months is incredible and it’s a huge decision to walk away from that. But the thought is that it would almost be a bit lazy to stay at Store Street... It feels like the right decision to draw a line after 2011 and go for it."
Last month, Lord was named Manchester's first-ever Night Time Economy Advisor.
WHP's 2018 season will open on Saturday, September 22nd, with sets from Seth Troxler, Peggy Gou and more. Two more parties have been confirmed, headed up by Four Tet and Patrick Topping on October 6th and 19th respectively.
