- Festivities begin with a reissue of a 1992 classic featuring 3MB and Magic Juan Atkins.
Berlin club and record label Tresor has several special projects planned this year as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations.
First up is a remastered reissue album by 3MB (AKA 3 Men in Berlin) and Magic Juan Atkins. Due on May 28th, the self-titled LP was originally released in 1992 and is considered a highly influential techno work that combines Berlin and Detroit styles. 3MB consisted of Moritz von Oswald and Thomas Fehlmann but occasionally included Atkins as a third member. The Detroit legend and von Oswald have previously collaborated on various albums including Borderland from 2013, Transport in 2016 and Angles from 2017. Revisit our review of Angles.
On April 7th, Tresor will unveil further details of a special box set featuring veteran artists and new talents. Also in the pipeline are a number of commissioned ventures, other reissues and a book project featuring unreleased photos, personal letters, flyers and various relics from the last three decades.
Last year, the club launched its Tresor Never Sleeps campaign in an effort to keep the business alive through the pandemic, offering supporters a chance to purchase exclusive merch, record bundles and the opportunity to play in the empty venue.
