Eastern Cape duo Umgido are releasing their debut EP on South Africa's BFM Records.
Out on February 24th, The Atlantic represents gqom's new wave. The three-track EP includes a collaboration with Cape Town artist Rudy Dadj and a remix from Spain's Nors Kode.
BFM Records is run by the team behind Bridges For Music, a charitable organisation based in Cape Town that provides entrepreneurship programmes plus the use of a recording studio to young people who have experienced trauma at home and in their communities.
Umgido are DJ Athie and Da Fresh, who both hail from the city of East London in the Eastern Cape. They've previously worked with gqom artist Busiswa, co-producing a track on her award-winning debut album, Highly Flavoured.
