- Some tracks are just so exuberant they put a smile on your face. Shanti Celeste excels at creating this mood as a DJ, but she's more low-key as a producer. Not so on the first release of her new label, Peach Discs, where she storms out of the gate with her biggest tune yet.
"Loop One" would suit an outdoor session under a blazing sun. It could also lift up a pitch-black club during peak-time. It starts with jacking hats and snares, which are swallowed up by a synth reverie. The percussion then returns with a vengeance, anvil-sized kick drum in tow. The track feels like it could be a new house anthem—it's hard not to get caught up in its tidal wave of a drop. "Selector" is mellower but just as galvanizing. A straight house beat and chattering vocal samples warm it up, leading to a hands-in-the-air synth riff. It caps Celeste's best record so far.
