- Deep house that charms with subtlety.
- Livity Sound's instantly recognizable style fits Leif to a tee. Igam-Ogam (named for a Welsh children's TV show) closes out a stellar year for the label that saw two careful additions to its roster in Two Shell and Roska. Leif has never released on Livity before, but his appearance feels like a homecoming. Few labels better suit the fluttering and groove of "Seeker," a track more about the journey than the release. The same goes for "First Image," a hand percussion track with a focus on texture, particularly the bubbling arpeggios. As strong as those B-sides are, "Igam-Ogam" is the highlight. It adds a whiff of dub to Leif's woodsy house, lending depth to an orchestra of mallets and what sounds like struck tin cans. This is dance music that charms with subtlety.
