  • Though it was produced for a mainstream audience, Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa's 2018 single "One Kiss" was one of those radio hits that snuck into the "serious" world of dance music. DJs played it as a cheeky pop moment, but looking at it differently, the track can be considered to be a proper deep house anthem. It wouldn't be surprising if SG Lewis, one of the producer’s on Dua Lipa's new album Future Nostalgia, turns out a similar kind of crossover hit one day. The rising British singer-songwriter is backed by superstars like Pharrell, and collaborates with artists ranging from Dave to Conducta. So far, Lewis' biggest songs have been laidback beats with indie vocalists, but "Chemicals," the first single off his upcoming album, aims closer to the dance floor. The track throws back to the golden era of funk and disco, but with a chilled out spin, filled with the artist's dreamy falsetto and a glimmering lead synth written by N*E*R*D's Chad Hugo. Play it by the pool all summer.
