- Percussion-heavy club music to quell your sorrows.
- In the mid-19th century, vimbuza emerged as a healing dance meant to assuage the trauma the Tumbuku people of Eastern Zambia endured under British occupation. These rituals still continue today, and throughout them ng'oma, or "drums of affliction," remain the guideposts. The latest club track from Zambian producer SHE Spells Doom sees his typical glossy blend of UK sounds and gqom at work, but this time it's designed for listeners to escape "pain, worry and sorrow." Its safe to say that goal was met. Punchy drums practically lift you from your seat in "Drums Of Affliction," and accompanied by shadowy, tension-building pads, it makes for a certified DJ tool.
