- Cruel Diagonals is the musical project of Los Angeles-based singer, producer and visual artist Megan Mitchell. Since 2016, she's used her music as an outlet for destructive sampling, eerie vocal work and the exploration of multidisciplinary media. For her latest single, "Fall Back Into Earth," she teams up with a longtime friend, fellow experimental musician Jon Carr. Over the course of 12 minutes their collaboration morphs from dark ambient to glitchy IDM. Its most climactic moment occurs around the eight minute mark, landing in the overcast gray area between Koreless and Tzusing. It’s a dynamic and surprisingly catchy track, which keeps me coming back for more in spite of its lengthy runtime.
