- When grime meets electro.
- As solo artists, IMOGEN and TripSixVivo produce badass leftfield music and grime (respectively), and, together with Voitax co-founder Paàl as T.I.P., the trio's individual flavors merge into something new on their six-track EP Neosynthesis. IMOGEN and Paàl are on production while UK grime MC TripSixVivo is on lyric duty, and it's IMOGEN and TripSixVivo's tune "Anomaly" that feels like the strongest tune of them all (though that's not to discredit Paàl, whose drum & bass-flavoured "Meta" is another major highlight). As TripSixVivo's smooth flow—"Brother I'm jaded / Faded / Firming it all for a payslip"—unfolds over IMOGEN's gnarly bassline at 136 BPM, the pair's neat blend of electro and grime feels like an obvious match. It's a glorious mutation and clever collaborative relationship between a handful of very different artists all at the top of their game.
