Sometime, in the middle of the previous century, public toilets were built in the park at Charles square (Karlovo námestí). The toilets were then closed to the public due to undetermined circumstances during the 80’s and the building was left abandoned for nearly two decades. With the consent of the Prague 2 district office, cafebar o2 emerged from the remains of this building in May 2004.
Situated at the end of the park, near the crossing of Žitná Street and Charles Square (Karlova Námestí), the small orange café is easy to locate. It lies just opposite a white house where the cinema MAT and Sony Elvia shop is located. There is a poetic terrace surrounded by treetops on the roof.
With our presence, we want to brighten the atmosphere of Karlovo námestí and prove that “Karlák” is not only place of convenient passage, but also a place where pleasant moments can be shared.
