- NY DJ, Ambient/ House/ TechnoNew York native A.Arias got off to a quick start behind the decks and hasn’t looked back since. Already a lifelong music consumer getting started dj'ing in 2008, and by 2010 he had formed his first event and DJ crew with JM De Frias of Sequencias label dubbed AlgoRhythm which went on to produce early New York appearances from Hieroglyphic Being, Chez Damier, DJ Sotofett, Marcellus Pittman, Aaron ‘FIT’ Siegel, and others. His efforts earned him a position at Brooklyn’s famed record store Halcyon the Shop for several years, and by now, at age 27, he has amassed over 3000 records. Arias is currently known as the driving force behind the Thule Musik revival label Strobelight Network, which has rescued the trove of Icelandic house and techno from obscurity to critical acclaim in 2014. Arias’ relentless digging for lost gems of 90s and early 2000s techno and house has led to his being booked personally by the likes of Mike Huckaby for his house sets, as well as by Terrence Dixon for his deep techno oriented performances, while also maintaining a constant presence gracing the decks at the top clubs in his hometown NYC, including Output, Cielo and Bossa Nova Civic Club, as well as many more underground warehouse parties. Preferring extended sets gathering house, techno, dub and ambient elements from various eras and places, and weaving them into a signature coherence, his versatile work in the DJ booth has earned the rising selector sets alongside Ben Klock, Joey Anderson, Keith Worthy, Steffi, Silent Servant, label mates Exos & Thor and dozens more figures of the worldwide underground.
