- DJ in New York CityGrown up amid peaceful chaos in his beloved hometown Istanbul, not much have changed during his time in New York City. He sees the contradictions in everyday life day and cannot help but appreciate it. The situation reflects itself into his music taste, as well. His music taste can be described as soulful and synthetic, ambient but dynamic striving to be courageous, unexpected and yet, experiential. Acem embodies a wide musical spectrum from House to Funk, Soul to Techno, He curates Fargo parties in New York City and Miami with internationally and locally acclaimed disc jockeys. Acem takes pleasure in finding music that’s overlooked and pride in managing an eclectic musical inventory. Music for him, is about the innocence and curiosity. Learning from the crowd is part of his process in his DJ sets and if possible, revealing a thing or two. Afterall, music and dance are all about the dialogue.
