After playing his first record from the age of 12, a musical love affair has never faded. DJ, promotor and music collector has all led to a few stories and lifelong friends that has made the love affair all worthwhile! With an ear and a heart for warm grooved based music, it’s a particular groove that Alex makes his own. Fusing from deep blended rhythms to Latino influenced drums, swinging from Funk, Latin and Disco. It's simply groove based rhythms that rocks the party. Very self-critical about his sound being pigeonholed.. It’s a freedom of feeling that he brings to the floor. Having thrown parties in the Southwest since the late 90s. 2004 seen the birth of "souloud". Based mainly in the West Country, Souloud parties have been nothing short of inspirational for an area that was lacking at the time. The last 16 years have seen some special nights, showcasing many of the world’s leading pioneers and Southwest's finest selectors 1995 was the year it all began, first on the one-time prevalent free party scene, then in 1996 in clubs such as MONROSE and THE ECLIPSE. 1997 sprung a 4-year residency at the Infamous club the Monastery and played regular for Fulltilt at Claires night club in Torquay With a lot of time and energy spent on keeping the parties fresh. The creation and birth of a rooftop space called the Attic was born. 6 wild years and many hazy parties later, the Attic was passed on to new owners, which led to opening of Coffee and Vinyl, a record shop in Devon and more recently a new open-air live music venue called One World. 28 years of playing music and billed along the likes of Carl Cox, Craig Charles, Primal Scream, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Sven Vath and Ricard Villalobos. The years have seen plays for the likes of Atomic Jam, Orbital gathering, Glastonbury, Beautiful Days, Cocoon, Jam the Channel, Krafty Sheep , Forbidden, Just Jack, Electric Bay, Bestival. Bristol Motion, Carl Cox Invites, The Q Club and various UK Festivals. Family life and throwing the odd party keeps the love affair going strong, whilst still promoting others and alwaus on the search for new, old and exciting music
