- Linchpin of her local scene, Rio de Janeiro’s veritable rave queen.Linchpin of her local scene, Rio de Janeiro’s veritable rave queen, Ananda, has found her musical home in the Carioca warehouses and parking lots where she holds the fort at her seven-year-strong queer party, KODE. There, the producer and DJ hosts Brazil’s finest along with international guests and collaborations that include clubs such as Bassiani at one of the country’s most celebrated events that commit to the uplifting of marginalized communities. But Ananda’s impact on Brazilian club music far outstretches the RDJ limits. Indeed, she regularly plays at São Paulo’s revered parties, Mamba Negra, ODD, and Carlos Capslock, and other parties and festivals around the country. In 2022, she became part of Y3K, a collective in São Paulo focused on Latin club music-oriented events. Having traversed the Brazil Club and rave scene, she’s hit the European underground with gigs at Berlin clubs such as Berghain, Tresor, and Else - also touring to Lisbon’s famous party MINA, Les Patties Brave in Paris - and Tbilisi super club Bassiani South American tour. Serving up techno with Latin club music and lashings of booty-bouncing ghetto-house, she demonstrates an aptitude for genre-jumping. Taking in streams and radio shows for Hor and Rinse. As a producer, Ananda has built features with Nice&Deadly, Gop Tun, TORMENTA, and A-Mig.
