    Applebottom is currently one of the most respected young producers in the UK. The Bristolian, barely making his way out of his teens, has already caught the ear of some of the most sought-after labels in the business as well as the radio establishment. Annie Mac can’t get enough of him; he’s had releases on Kerri Chandler’s MadTech and Zed Bias’ Biasonic to name a couple, and his most recent single on UK powerhouse Black Butter Records was just the icing on the cake for a young man many dance heads see as one of the future figureheads of dance music. Applebottom has come to be considered a beatmaker able to transverse genres with that rarest of production talents: the consistent ability to make a straight-up club banger. Already beloved in his native Bristol and in the inner-city warehouses in London for it, Applebottom has started leaving his mark in Europe last year, playing Outlook festival for the first time, coinciding with the release of his track ‘Licked’ through Zed’s label. The 400K+ plays on his AlunaGeorge remix of ‘Bad Idea’ gives an idea of the level he’s operating at (the other producers involved in that AG project included Baauer and Duke Dumont). Now with a calendar of dates all set for the summer (incl. Eastern Electrics, No Tomorrow, Fabric and Outlook just to name a few) as well as a follow-up Black Butter release on the horizon, Applebottom is just getting started. “When I started out I was 17 and Eton Messy had just begun, I was brought up and we all rose together in that Bristol area, and I think a lot of people have just gotten too comfortable making the same sounding dance music - and for me that kind of defeats the point, there’s so much variety in it. I feel that particularly for my generation anyway, we’re a lot younger as producers and it’s kind of our job to be that next generation that produces that next sound. We should be striving to make something new and different and build our own vision of what it should be.” With a leader’s fearlessness and confidence in a natural ability that’s mirrored by the unanimous tastemaker attention he’s receiving, 2015 and beyond looks only to have more and more of Applebottom in it.
