The August experience is organic and understated, as spacious ambient sounds e..August Jakobsen is a producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist who creates deep house, chill-out and live house music. As one-third of deep house trio Cemetery Gospel, August makes basslines and melodies, performing live with instruments and machines. He is also half of the London-based deep house duo APP, which has released on Diynamic, Kindisch, Global Underground, Secret Life and Stella Polaris, just to name a few. APP is resident at WetYourSelf nights at Fabric, and they have played their raw, melodic live house sets at major clubs across the globe, from Fabric, London to D'Edge, Sao Paolo and Space, Ibiza. August also has a couple of solo projects – as Violent Romance, he performs deep house live with a rollcall of soul and indie singers. As August Jakobsen, he has been producing dub and chillout music for over a decade, using atmospheric keys and dubby pulses to create deep chill out with a twist. He plays regularly at Stella Polaris festivals, with releases on the label's compilations. In his London studio, August makes use of his instrumental skills and production flair to ghostwrite for a number of well-known names in house and electronica. Educated at the Trinity College of Music, August holds a BA (Hons) in Music Performance, specialising in jazz guitar. As his career as a producer was developing, he worked as a session guitarist and toured with Maps (Mute Records) and Tulips.
