- Bigfeta is an up and coming Techno and Tech House producer and DJ based in Chicago. He also manages the American record label SmokeHouse.Bigfeta is a rather unique individual. Born in Greece, and growing up in the USA, he currently resides in Chicago after previously maintaining a residency in Cyprus. The wide variety of music that he has been immersed in throughout his life is evident in his productions, mixes, and performances. With over 20 years of experience in studying, composing, and performing music, ranging from classical music (which he has received training), death metal/deathcore, hip hop, jazz, dubstep, trap, an obscure style of indie rock termed 'mathrock,' and gypsy music. Feeling like he didn't quite find his place, he ultimately decided to take a break from music and enroll in medical school. His philosophy for doing so can be summarized as: "Music ultimately produces an emotional state of being that is governed by biological principles, and to understand these principles is to understand music. Every song or set has always been approached as an extensive experiment in regards to how he can penetrate the human psychophysiological barrier in order to convey an epic story that is not readily perceptible by our normal neurological circuitry. After intensive studying of the human body, Bigfeta re-approached the same concept in a completely different manner and has found that this is most naturally accomplished with Techno. Once the barrier has been broken, his productions then begin to guide the audience into a reality that is not contained by our sensory systems; a state of being completely unbound. Then, it really begins. Raw chaos juxtaposed with ordered beauty, how existence really is. Essentially, every song and every performance seeks to tell one long story regarding our existence, with the hopeful finale of finally uncovering the esoteric secrets of our our reality. Bigfeta productions have appeared on De-Konstrukt, Del Sol, and SmokeHouse records, and his releases have been supported by Loco Dice, Paco Osuna, and Durtysoxx among many others.
