Bionics (also known as biomimetics, biognosis, biomimicry, or bionical creativity engineering) is the application of biological methods and systems found in nature to the study and design of engineering systems and modern technology. They believe that great inspiration is the mix of nature and industrial sounds that surround and provide the essence of the world, therefore, they consider Nature their muse, so they spend lots of their time listening and embracing that mix of sounds of nature and industry. This duo was formerly known as Bad Apples (2004) whose music used to mix the subtle alto sounds of jazz with funky electronic beats, making their music the perfect combination of warm charm and expressive notes. As time went by they evolved in to their own style, ¨Bioniq¨ (some have call it a Experimental Jams meet Electronic House). Their music is best known for its colorful bass-lines, friendly melodies, and bouncy/percussive innovative beats. These two minds are considered to be amongst the most talented musicians and DJ/Producers in the electronic music scene. Together, with their minimalistic grooves, have accomplished to catch everyone s attention, creating even stronger beats with the dance floor s funky vibrations . Alex Galvan (1986) was born in Chula Vista, California and lived in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico for sixteen years. After that, he moved to Monterrey, Mexico in pursuit of a different environment and other musical minds, where he lived for five years. His interest in music started at the age of 13 making classical and jazz piano one of his greatest interests, as well as the essential beats in drums and percussions. After 3 years of music lessons (age 16) he had his first encounter with electronic music, such as trance, progressive, house, and techno. He then decided to start creating his own electronic beats in a modest home studio using all kinds of influences, sounds, colors, beats and genres. After several years of developing his personal style and unique flamboyant beats. He then evolved into Bioniq at the age of 19, after being part of an inspiring jam session with Luis Siller, which made them realize how their ideas and musical inner beings merged beautifully into the fresh new beat the fills many listeners ears, minds, and hearts today. Today Galvan resides at Monterrey, Mexico after a long and productive year living in the beautiful city of Barcelona, Spain, playing at several renowned parties and improving his audio production techniques at SAE Institute. Luis Siller (1985) was born in Monterrey Mexico. His interest in music started at the early age of 6. Interested in learning how to create his own music, he decided to take piano lessons. After 3 years of practicing classical music, he started making his own tunes to the piano. By the age of 13 looking for another type of expression, he then decided to take guitar lessons, influenced by many artists, and genres. At the age of 16 Luis discovers fl studio, reason starting to play with beats and melodies. Merging together with Alex Galvan at the year 2003, joined by the same taste of groovy melodies, jazzy influence and experimental ideas started a project known as "Bad Apples". This project released 4 tracks that can be listened with in their myspace. (http://www.myspace.com/badapplesmx). As the years went by they both have been evolving into their own unique techniques of production. Today Luis Siller resides at Monterrey Mexico, starting to play at private underground parties. This duo had been releasing tracks w/ Dialtone Recs, Raccoon Records from Mexico & Fanfare from Bulgary. They have shared booths with Djs like Mr.C (Poker Flat, Superfreq), Underworld, Chris Fortier (Fade Records, NYC), M.A.N.D.Y (Get Phisical, Berlin), Damian Lazarus (Get Phisical) and Dave Seamen (Audiotherapy / Renaissance) just to mention a few. This two fused minds love nature, love sound and the most important thing..... ¨bioniq¨ loves that elegant minimal charm of techno.
