- Brooklyn-based producer and DJ, whose production for the dance floor is balanced out by his production of Ambient music; oftentimes combining the two in his work. Currently studying the Art of Raising a Puppy.Brian Traister, aka Futureworlder, is a producer and DJ currently based out of Brooklyn. His love of electronic music began at a very early age while attempting to emulate R2-D2 with a Remco SoundFX Machine (his first "synth") and from being exposed to disco while watching Solid Gold on TV. Growing up on a steady diet of northern soul, motown r'n'b, 70'S rock, disco, punk and post-punk/ new wave/ no wave, he discovered electro and early Hip Hop (gleaned from Mr. Magic's Rap Attack on New York radio station WBLS) at the age of 11. He began making tapes of the shows he heard, collecting records they featured; many of which he still owns. He started going out to shows and clubs in NYC at age 15 and picked up DJ'ing at around age 17 when he first fell in love with EBM, Acid House and Techno records coming out of Chicago, Detroit and Manchester, UK. It was around this time that he also discovered the works of Brian Eno, Steve Hillage/ System 7, Spacetime Continuum, Mixmaster Morris, The KLF and The Orb, beginning his long journey into the Ambient world. Brian has been actively and deeply involved with the underground club scene for over 2 decades, producing events throughout New York and New England and becoming a founder of the early 90's East Coast rave scene alongside such pioneers as Adam Warped, Bill Kraemer and Scott Richmond. A longtime denizen of the New York Underground, Brian has Dj’ed countless shows and events as well as residency playing several exhibition openings for the New Museum of Contemporary Art. He's played in-store gigs and has even made an appearance as a guest DJ for a TV show on TLC.
