Their backgrounds couldn't be more different. Christopher Lawrenz and Eike Bruch, collectively known as Bruch & Junior only meet in 2009 to merge their musical styles into something new – and unique. While Christopher starts playing the piano and the violin when he is just five years old, Eike is a real hip-hop head. But Christopher, albeit being classically educated, also starts to DJ in 1999 and intensively collects every form of music. When he starts playing out he quickly makes a name for himself with disco and house sets. From small gigs in his hometown he goes on to play gigs in New York, Mexico and elsewhere, sometimes taking his violin for an eclectic live performance. After moving to Hamburg he starts playing the local clubs and on one night, he meets Eike. After producing hip-hop for a long time, Eike turns his hobby into a profession and goes on to study sound engineering in Berlin. But it is only since they produce music together that their ideas sprawl so relentlessly. Their mutual passion for music, their musical know-how and their feel for the dancefloor make their production process very harmonic. Their first EP "FIESTA DE LA RESIDENCIA" is played and charted by big shots like Luciano, M.A.N.D.Y., Shinedoe, DJ Sneak and Phonique to name a few and reveals their sound, which could best be described as light, groovy and pumping while taking its influences from the grand movements of electronic music, Chicago House and Detroit Techno. While Chris is now based in Berlin and Eike in Hamburg, their collaborative efforts continue and flourish even more so, as each of them brings new experiences to the production desk. More and more Bruch & Junior are booked into bigger and better clubs, both nationally and internationally. What started as a chance meeting has become something solid. But even that will keep on moving.
