Late 2007, 3 music producers went on a pilgrimage to Detroit, Michigan to check out how this city gave birth to some of the most vital electronic music ever created.
1 week in, and one of them had abandoned the hotel and was staying in a squat situated along the notorious Cass Corridor. The other two wandered the city, checking out some of the sights and sounds. Meeting back up at a warehouse party to end all warehouse parties, the Cass Collective was born.
Now the proud owners of a house in downtown Detroit, bought for the grand sum of $1200, Cass Collective are regular visitors to Detroit, both in person and in the raw, stripped back house and techno that they create.
Always evolving, the Collective is using Detroit as a jump-off point to create tracks that bind a club together. Rarely taking the obvious route to dancefloor satisfaction, Cass Collective prefer to provide a jolt to the system, shifting people out of their comfort zone and into the Cass Corridor.
