A DJ, producer and label boss at the top of his game, Chris Stussy has backed up early promise and
grown to become one of the scene’s most exciting names.
Now a crucial part of today’s global house landscape with a sound that is all his own, Stussy’s rise has taken him firmly into the spotlight, and the Dutch tastemaker is only just getting started…
A long-standing love of early house, raw production and an understanding of jazz, disco and
Chicago styles feed into his unique take on the genre, with late-night cuts arriving via Kaoz Theory,
Fuse, and more, alongside notable remixes for artists including the one and only Kerri Chandler and
more recently Rudimental.
2020 welcomed a significant milestone as he unveiled his label, Up The Stuss. A vinyl-driven
outlet for Stussy and friends to release forward-thinking, timeless club-driven productions, the
imprint has become a must-visit hub for quality cuts across the electronic sphere. Home to his ‘Get
Together’ project alongside S.A.M., plus material from Malin Genie, East End Dubs, Fabe, Janeret
and more, Up The Stuss not only showcases how well-rounded Stussy is as a producer, but also his
ever-maturing talents as an A&R and label head. The latest example is the launch of UTSOFF and
the release of ‘All Night Long’ - a track perfectly representing Stussy’s musical realm, becoming
one of the hottest tracks of the year while racking up over a million plays well before it was even
released.
As a DJ, Stussy is just as widely informed and draws on styles to suit the many different settings he
plays - often zigzagging from intimate clubs to leading festivals within 24 hours. Main stages at the
likes of Awakenings and underground clubs such as Printworks (London), Space (Miami), Fabrik
(Madrid), and Sound (LA) all come under his spell in equally memorable ways. You can add his
rise as an Ibiza favourite with appearances at DC10 and Amnesia for Circoloco, Paradise, Solid
Grooves and The Martinez Brothers, plus his 2023 season opener and return to Hï for their
notorious day-to-night opening party. That, coupled with tours of North and South America,
Australia & New Zealand, and regular headline and extended sets across his home city, from
Thuishaven and Shelter to Lofi, ensures his diary is always stacked.
And yet, he continues to serve up heat with a wealth of original material, collaborations and remixes
showcasing his innate musical nous. And while each new production shows a subtle evolution, they
continue to feed into the singular Stussy sound that both DJs and dancers have come to know and
love. With appearances already in the books at the likes of Circoloco Ibiza and Space’s MMW
Closing Party through to his impressive Coachella debut, and with a host of key shows still to be
announced, it’s clear Stussy’s best is yet to come…
