- Timeless and uncomprimising techno soundscapes. Part of the RASEREI collective with homebase at Disco Zwei in Mannheim, Germany.Confusion is a Heidelberg-based producer and resident DJ of the Raserei collective. His dancefloor-oriented sound is characterized by highly effective rhythms, minimalist synths, and trippy pads or textures that traverse various tempos and subgenres, maintaining a consistent energy level. Drawing inspiration from his roots as a drummer and the evolving landscape of techno over the decades, Confusion also finds creative influence in his appreciation for ambient soundscapes, IDM, and other experimental electronic genres. Since 2017, he has been shaping the regional techno scene in Mannheim and its surroundings. Co-hosting a visionary event series at Disco Zwei, he has been instrumental in bringing well-respected bookings to the forefront. In recent years, his focus has expanded to crafting stripped-down yet minimalistic techno tools. Alongside numerous self-releases, remixes, and various artist appearances on labels like Schimmer Records, Duplicity, and SOPTIK, he has earned recognition with releases on well-respected platforms such as Canticle, SYXT, PRX Records, and Adapter. Taking the next ambitious step, he and his collective mates decided to launch their own label in June 2022. Confusion's music has garnered support from established artists including DVS1, Luke Slater, Setaoc Mass, Rødhåd, Rene Wise, Philippa Pacho, Marrøn, Blue Hour, and Lea Occhi, to name a few. These tracks have found their way into the sets of these artists at renowned venues like Berghain, KHIDI, Bassiani, and Radion.
