Dana Bergquist’s journey..For those who have found their passion, there’s a pivotal moment when something clicked. A door was opened and a light bulb flickered, there was a fork in the road and the direction chosen lead to path of total excitement. Dana Bergquist’s journey into house music began with a trip to London in 1992 when he went to his first rave. From that point on, he’s fully immersed himself in the music. Drawing early inspiration from the likes of Depeche Mode, Tangerine Dream, Giorgio Moroder, Les Adams, Aril Brikha, Sasha & John Digweed, Danny Howells and Desyn Massiello, Dana’s musical obsession creates a natural high that he now gives to house music lovers around the world. His first bi monthly residency began in 2000 at Regnbågsrummet in Stockholm, which he shared with his long time friend Eric Prdyz. Their friendship grew from their mutual love for performing and eventually led them to a two and a half month tour of North America in 2007. Dana warmed up for Eric at world renown clubs such as Space in Miami, Pacha in New York City, Avalon in Los Angeles, Ruby Skye in San Francisco, the Guvernment in Toronto and Stereo in Montreal; a truly amazing experience he will never forget. Dana has played all over his native Sweden with residencies at the Grodan Cocktail Club, Fokused and since 2006, with his friend Andreas Hansson, he has held down a monthly event called 'Oh!' at F12 Terrasen. Dana has also played for major promotional events such as Renaissance, Ministry of Sound and Cream, which have allowed him to play alongside some of the worlds best DJ’s including Danny Howells, Roger Sanchez, SOS, Sister Bliss, Luke Fair, Tom Middleton, Paolo Mojo, Nic Fanciulli, Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Lawler, Chris Lake, Adam Beyer, John Digweed and Timo Maas. Dana’s natural creativity led him to start producing his own tracks, and after a decade perfecting his skills in the studio, he released arguably his best track ever, 'McEnroe', which was signed to Symphonic by Desyn Massiello. Recently Dana’s finest work has come from his partnership with Peder G, who he met in 2000 through mutual friends Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello. Their shared creativity in the studio has produced some massively popular tracks including their remix of Eric Prdyz’s 'Pjanoo', which was included on compilations from Cream and Ministry of Sound. Other tracks that continue to have global appeal are 'Djakarta' and 'Love Shine', which are both signed to Discoteca Music, the label he shares with Tom Morgan, Somnus Corp, balErik and Luke Fair. Dana’s sets are always full of unexpected twists and turns. You never know what direction he is going to take the listener in, but he always maintains a fluid flow that is created from blending the old and the new into a perfect fusion of tightly nit beats; a style many have coined 'Dana House'. His musical tastes continue to grow and shape the future of house music; as Dana says “as of now it has never been better, it's like in the beginning all over again.
