- m u s i c i s l i q u i d a r c h i t e c t u r eDaniel Jaramillo was raised in Ecuador to the electronic and experimental sounds of Isao Tomita, Vangelis and Tangerine Dream while his dad drew plans at home. Of corse there was also lots of Pink Floyd and Supertramp on the day to day pick. As the days passed his dad noticed Daniel's joy for music and got him a copy of Fruity Loops (A music-making PC program.- the term app was not even there at that time.) this, plus a lot of hours in front of the Piano set from a young age a musical lifestyle for Jaramillo. in 2008, after some time in the craft, Daniel performs Live around his country for a couple of years before moving to Buenos Aires to complete his music production degree at the EMBA institute. During this time and under the alias of Audiofillia he releases on Soma Records and Circle Music. The duo-project Jaramillo & Bastien also had relevant releases in this years. From 2010 until 2014 Daniel and his dj friends run Shake collective, one of the first groups of electronic music events organizer in his home town Cuenca. This opened the doors for the young, fresh and hungry minds for new sounds and bounds from guests djs from abroad. After this last cycle was closed, Jaramillo together with DAZA started the project Drop as a party promoter in 2014. DAZA and Jaramillo first met at a party in Buenos Aires in 2008, where this love and musical connection started. At that time Daniel was finishing his Musical Production course and DAZA was working as chief Marketing agent. A couple of years after the love flourished, and so their vision to found a brand for their bookings and parties. From 2014 Drop organized several events and played all major cities in Ecuador and Colombia, they helped another djs to stablish their career and organized underground parties under the name Drop Sessions. Another important facet for the collective is the participation in various corporate events, where the understanding and representation of the brand concept is key. In 2017, moving to Europe was already a plan, Drop threw the last big party in Cuenca, Ecuador where Techno-head Alexi Delano performed. Late in 2017 they move to Germany where Daniel completes his Master Studies in Architecture at Bauhaus city: Dessau, where they continued their parties Drop Sessions and got involved in the local scene. Moving to Berlin in 2019...the perfect plan until the lockdown came up and all the clubs and bars where forced to close. This was a period for learning and deep sound exploring for Jaramillo. Drop Mental Music releases Sofeggio EP in 2020, an experimental and ambient musical journey based on the solfeggio frequencies. This was offered as a tool to meditate and deep relaxation as a digital release. From 2021 Jaramillo continues to perform in Berlin and around Germany while constantly shaping his sound and absorbing at the same time the spirit of the Techno city. Faster grooves and texture Techno that keep the minimalism touch is how Daniel describes the actual sound of Drop.
