- Dani Siciliano is an American singer, songwriter, producer and DJ. Her musical and vocal style draws from elements of jazz, disco and classic RnB. It is this dynamic style that has put her in a place of her own within the world of electronic music and..It was in San Francisco in the early 90’s club scene that Dani established herself and a following as one of the few women DJ’s of the era playing at some of the city’s most notable parties including a residency at the legendary Endup. Her eclectic sets consisted fundamentally of disco records found at thrift stores where it was common to discover entire collections donated from those who had passed due to the first wave of the AIDS crisis. It was there that Dani began what would be her singular style of music drawing from her origins in jazz and mixing it with disco and electronic music. It was also there that she met Matthew Herbert and embarked on a decade long musical partnership with him writing and providing vocals and style that would eventually give definition to each others’ bodies of work. This partnership took her to London where she relocated and would write, record, release and tour for the output over the following 10 years. This musical collaboration produced numerous releases including most notably 1998’s Around the House (Phonography), 2001’s Bodily Functions (K7) and 2003’s Goodbye Swingtime (Accidental). During the recording of Goodbye Swingtime Dani began work on material that would ultimately be included on her debut solo album Likes…(K7) released in 2004. Singles included Walk the Line and a cover of Nirvana’s Come As You Are. Her second solo album Slappers (K7) was released in 2006 and featured the single Why Can’t I Make You High. Both of these albums saw Dani embark on refining her production skills and have become influential pieces of work. Siciliano’s musical as well as personal style has made her a fixture within the world of fashion, art and luxury. She has provided exclusive musical soundtracks and performed for clients such as Van Cleef and Arpel, Cartier Foundation, Crazy Horse Paris, l’Hotel, and Gaspard Yurkievich. Dani Siciliano continues expanding her body of work and collaborations with others splitting time between London and Paris. She remains in demand worldwide as a musician and vocalist and continues to DJ having played in the most prominent electronic music clubs and parties across Europe including Pulp in Paris, Panorama and Watergate in Berlin and Lisbon’s Lux. Her third solo album Dani Siciliano is largely self-produced and will be released in 2016 on Circus Company.
