- Belfast based DJ and producer Defined By Rhythm is a versatile and dynamic artist with an uncompromising passion for techno musicWith more than 20 years experience behind the decks, he has developed his own unique style, layering multiple tracks at time and building epic aural vistas within his sets. He plays techno with an intensity that is his trademark. He spent his formative years as an artist in Sydney, Australia where he was co-founder and resident DJ of two of Sydney's most beloved Techno parties - [THE BOX] and Disconnected Presents. He was a regular at Sydney clubs and festivals such as Chinese Laundry, Darkroom, One22, Kink and Lost baggage. DBR has been a treasured mainstay within the Sydney Techno scene throughout years past. During that time he has shared the stage with artists like Ben Sims, Luke Slater (PAS), Chris Liebing, Robert Hood, Steve Rachmad, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Xhin, Lucy, Perc, Marcel Fengler and many more. He relocated back to Northern Ireland in 2019, and in 2022 he released his 'Smoke and Mirrors' EP on Vindico Records, and played the main stage at The One in The Woods festival in Liverpool alongside Luke Slater, Chris Liebing & Perc. Previously, he's had releases on seminal Australian techno label IF? Records and has played internationally, most notably at the legendary Berlin club, Tresor.
