- What do you get when you combine: one of South Africa’s most established Jacking Electro Producers (Geoff K – Potty Mouth/SImma) and one of SAs’ newest Up ‘n Coming Female DJs (Natasha Alexis – Divas On Decks), playing tracks with infectious deep basel..DJ Duo: Geoff K (Potty Mouth/ Simma/Loverush/LU10) and Natasha Alexis (Divas on Decks) Dirty – Filthy/ nasty/grimy Pogo – Bouncy/fun What do you get when you combine: one of South Africa’s most established Producers (Geoff K – Potty Mouth/Simma/Loverush) and one of SAs’ newest Female DJs (Natasha Alexis – Divas On Decks), playing tracks with infectious deep baselines, jazzy funky elements and soulful lyrics, designed to make you wanna get on the dance floor and “jack” your body????? Dirty Pogo! The two have been playing together for over 2 years now. Both are firm lovers of the Underground House Scene and together play Deep Jackin, Booty Base, Jackin, tech, and Electro. And so Dirty Pogo was officially formed in January 2010 . Geoff K has over 60 international releases in 5 years and is known as one of the pioneers of the Jackin Tech sound. Geoff’s’ track choice is a mix of jackin, tech, and Deep House, typically with slightly darker, more agro undertones. While Natasha’s tracks are more jackin, electro and focuses more on a happy, bouncy, fun, light hearted tone. Their combined sound is mainly Chicago Underground Jackin’ and Ghetto, but also enjoy the energy from Electro and Breakbeat. Inspired by the sounds of producers like Brian Jones, Joey Youngman, Inland Knights, Style of Eye, Greens Keepers, Santiago & Bushido, Troydon , Sexual Chocolate and More..... Other Influences like Switch, Dave Taylor, Herve, Sinden, Hijack, TJR, Far Too Loud, Lazy Rich and more In Dec 2010, Dirty Pogo were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go to Perth, Australia, and play at “Perth’s No1 Dance Event” Breakfest. This event is held every 26th Dec and is dedicated to Break beats and its followers, with over 10 000 people attending as it was their 10 Year festival. In Oct 2012 Geoff K entered the Olmeca/ Steve Aoki Be The DJ competition, where he had to remix one of Steve Aoki’s tracks. Geoff was chosen as one of the top 10 in South Africa, with the only Deep House style track. In Feb 2013 he was flown to Amsterdam to attend a Master Class with Steve where he had a personal session to look at the track Geoff created. Geoff also had to 15 minute mix to showcase his DJ skills. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and gave Geoff the opportunity to meet Steve Aoki as well as Mixmag journalists’ and UDG representatives’. Geoff K has also signed his latest track Dysturbed Trumpet to Shadow Child and Kry Wolfs Food Music Label. Track is due out end of summer (Northern Hempisphere) 2014. Having played at venues and events around JHB and PTA such as Truth, H20, Deep In The Woods, Voodoo Lounge, Tokyo Sky, Roxys, Stones Centurion VIP, Ruby Blue, Sound Factory and Groove Cafe. And with Dirty Pogo’s first performance at Ami-LectriX Big Birthday Bash at Stones Edenvale, followed by a massive turn out for their first set at H20 Beyond Borders on the 27th March 2010, they are proving that Fun and Funk still reign on the dance floors. Since then they have featured at the last 9 H20s(Beyond Borders, All White Affair, City to City, GodsKitchen Fusion, Deadmau5 , Avicii, Afrojack, H20 Africa - 15 year Anniversary ).
