- Bangkok-based Drum&Bass, Dubstep and Hip-Hop DJ. Co-founder of PhatFunk and Kontraband club nights.Hailing from the south of France, Jeremy Guessoum a.k.a. DJ Azek moved to Thailand in 2005, where he started playing for local Drum & Bass movements Jazzbah Records and Yaak Party and the Bangkok underground radio UB Radio. In 2010, DJ Azek together with partner in crime DJ Instinct founded the PhatFunk Bangkok massive, which has grown as the leading Drum & Bass night in the Asian metropolis. In 2015, DJ Azek and friends have also launched Kontraband, a monthly club night dedicated to the deeper and darker side of bass music, from alternative Hip-Hop all the way up to Footwork and Drum & Bass. Influenced by the sounds of labels like Exit, Soul:r, 31 Records, or Critical Recordings, Azek’s sets range from deep to soulful. Such a musical energy has seen Azek busting tunes alongside international DJs such as Goldie, DJ Marky, dBridge, Marcus Intalex, Calibre, Lenzman, Alix Perez, Sabre, Sam Binga, Om Unit, The Ragga Twins, or Doc Daneeka.
