One of the most influential figures in Japan's house scene today, an extraordinary DJ/Remixer/Producer EMMA, whose name means the King of Hell in Buddhism, has enthralled and entertained myriads of sonic savvy devotees and been running a continuous groove since he started his DJ’ing career in 1985. Although EMMA had aggressively and quite successfully played circuits and regular gigs from the early stage of his career, signing with 'Gold', the legendary Tokyo venue, in 1994 was ultimately his career breakthrough. Then, shortly afterwards, he instantly made it to the stardom which he currently still holds. Over the years, EMMA’s sensitive yet aggressive style of spinning has been called by many as “EMMA HOUSE” and become a category by itself in Japan’s dance music scene. As the EMMA HOUSE seemingly keeps evolving into a somewhat monstrous figure, a number of NITELISTs, the name created by EMMA himself to call a club-loving individual in connotation of being cool and prestigious, keeps multiplying and never seems to cease for a moment. EMMA currently plays two monthly regular gigs at major venues in Tokyo alone that, in Japan, is considered to be an incredibly striking factor, which no other DJs have yet achieved thus far. As well as DJ’ing for all the nitelists who are crazed by EMMA HOUSE, he passionately devotes his time to recreate the sound that captures his music on the dance floor through his steadily releasing EMMA HOUSE, the big selling mix CD series, and other CDs and Vinyls produced by his own label, “NITELIST MUSIC”. His regular gigs include Womb’s “TROUBLE HOUSE” (Tokyo), Ageha’s “ULTRA MUSIC” (Tokyo) and World’s “EMMA HOUSE” (Kyoto).
