  • Moritz, originally from Munich, Germany, is a Seoul-based house music DJ. He is a co-founder of the "La Boutique" DJ Crew and former "Mystik" resident. Moritz started his career as a DJ in 1995. His style encompasses house, garage, and more.
Moritz started djing in August 1995, inspired by the emerging wave of U.S. Garage House that had reached Europe. In late 1995, together with two of his closest friends, Marek Eppler and Christian Fischer, he established a DJ team and club night named "La Boutique." Each La Boutique DJ had his signature sound. Marek primarily spun downbeats, trip hop, and hip hop; Moritz was into house, deep house, and garage from the outset; and Christian dropped the latest drum n' bass dub plates from the UK. With the growing success of their club night "Sunday Lessons" at Munich's famous club "Atomic Café," La Boutique started booking numerous renowned international DJs, like Africa Bambata, DJ Krush, Kemistry & Storm, Nightmares on Wax, and Grooverider & Fabio. In early 1998, Moritz discovered the new UK Garage and 2-Step sound, which had just come over from England. It was the missing link that helped match Moritz’s style more smoothly with the styles of his team members. With the growing popularity of UK Garage/2 Step, La Boutique decided to establish its own club night under the name "Club Deluxe," in addition to the fortnightly Sunday Lessons. Beginning at Munich's "Mandarin Lounge", they moved to the famous "Raum 8" in 2000, after being offered the Saturday night slot. Club Deluxe became a massive success. In addition to DJ and promotional activities, La Boutique founded its own label under the name of "LB Recordings" and released several highly acclaimed records, such as Tryflyn's "Crimson Guards / The Scientist". In 2005, Moritz relocated to Seoul, where he was a resident at legendary club Mystik from 2011-2017. After Mystik’s closure, he has been regularly playing in various locations including Discosurf, Concrete Bar, Faust, Contra, Livin', Modeci, Glam Lounge, Lost & Found, Bolero, Tongro, Courte, Pistil, Kockiri and Nyapi. He is also one-half of "Hausmusik" with Korean DJ legend Jinwook.
