His extensive music career is filled with countless turning points and, although he is always in constant evolution, he has been loyal to his own unique style that never fails to satisfy. Dominant’s passion for his music transcends the confines of any DJ box. His sets offer a solid, methodic and intellectual concept of techno that fills the club´s atmosphere with a truly dynamic sound, rich in textures, tempo and immaculate timing. His music captures the crowd and allows him to reach out to their bodies and minds, taking them on a journey with him throughout the set. Dominant believes that vinyl reflects the true art in live mixing and this is why it has always been an intrinsic part of his mixing and music production. Lately, he has gone back to his roots in his sets, performing only with turntables or mixing decks (CDJs). Characteristically Dominant always seeks out the fusion between the latest sounds and non-contemporary music, enriching his extensive musical knowledge, allowing him to maintain his roots whilst giving him the unique and distinctive sound he displays today in his sets and more recently in his own productions. Although he is fond of various music genres, Dominant is truly passionate about Techno. His love affair with Techno starts early in his career and leads to him being signed as resident at “Subterfugio”, the legendary club in Valladolid. He has been a regular DJ on the Spanish club scene since the mid-90s. Although it is from 2004 that he forges his musical identity under the alias “Dominant”, with which he feels he is free to enjoy his passion the most. Ever since, people have been able to relish his unique sound in countless clubs all over Spain. He has also performed across the globe in clubs such as “La Influencia” (London), “Monkeys Club” (Berlin) and “The Wiggle Room” (Tokyo), to name just a few. He spends several years living in Madrid, where he focuses on music production and new technologies being developed in the music industry. It is during this period that the time spent when he was young, learning musical theory and playing the piano pays back, as these give him the foundations needed to get the most out of the production studio. Not satisfied with the success of his DJ career, in 2013 he launches his own record label “Parallel Pain Records”. Soon, well-known artists such as Marcos In Dub, Miki Craven and Analog People sign under his label. Success arrives early as a music producer with the release of “Japan”, in 2014, on his own record label “Parallel Pain Records”. This EP proves to be a turning point in his career, bringing a new concept to his sound. Two of the most popular online music stores, www.deejay.de and www.decks.de, sell out of his record within the first four days of it being released. Dominant has released his music on various record labels, remixing well-known techno artists such as Kazu Kimura (VSR23) from Japan. In 2015 he takes part in a VV.AA album from the prestigious LCR record label, and receives excellent critiques for his work on his record ¨Window Wall¨ (LCR64). So what does the future hold for Dominant? It is full of exciting new releases from him both independently and in collaboration with others. He is currently working on a remix from the Korean Soolee at LCR Records and is soon to release an E.P. at New Rhythmic Records together with the creative mastermind of the label, Joton.
