- Blending tough & soaring tech-house, techno & broken beat with infectious energy, Dovetail is a DJ/ Producer championing small labels & self-producers, especially women and gender minorities through her project ‘In the Key of She’Dovetail (a.k.a. Sam Parsley) brings together her hard techno roots with soaring melodic vibes – all infused with a twist of fun and funk! She cut her raving teeth in the hard dance scene of the early noughties and began DJing in 2015, racking up a string of appearances at underground parties, festivals and live-streams and becoming a Sisu core DJ in 2019. Her 2020 debut as a producer - a luscious, cinematic two-track breakbeat EP – hit No.1 in the Beatport Top 100 Breaks Releases chart, with her follow-up also making the Top 5. With music signed to Diesel Recordings, Deep Down Dirty, DaCosta Records and Break Wind Productions, she continues to make bass-facin’, hip-shakin’ music with heart and soul. A champion of small labels, self-producers and minority communities in dance music, Sam’s unending love for the underground manifests in residencies for Unmade Radio, Threads Radio and her role as talent-booker/ artist liaison for an annual DIY festival at a secret location in the English countryside.
