Eddie Niguel is one of the few Singapore talents that is making musical waves in the International electronic music scene. Dedicated to playing and producing the highest quality electronic music with over 20 years of experience, Eddie Niguel first cut his teeth in his native Singapore, playing alongside djs such as Adam Beyer, Clive Henry, Dave Angel, Steve Lawler and Nicolas Matar. Eddie has performed at established club venues such as Zouk Singapore, Del Disco in Seoul, AXD in Taipei and London Calling in Tokyo. Eddie has also headlined at iconic events locally, such as the Asian TV Awards (Post Party) and festivals regionally; 'Independance' @Genting Highlands and 'Pacha Ibiza Party' @NBC, Manila, never failing to work the crowd with his excellent mixing ability and unique style. While not one to bring it up himself, his involvement in the electronic music scene extends further than just being a resident dj and curator of quality club night events. After years of re-editing music solely for his own dj sets, Eddie decided to try his hand on music production and went on to further explore the art of music making. His genuine interest in the field eventually paid off when he made a huge impression by winning an International remix contest hosted by the established Get Physical Music imprint from Berlin in 2009. The remix of Patrice Baumel's 'Roar' went on to become the #1 Best seller on the JUNO downloads techno chart following it's release and a positive buzz was surrounding this emerging talent. After a couple of well-received follow-up releases under his then moniker 'Edel', Eddie went on to debut a solid 3 track ep on Danny Howell's 'Dig Deeper' imprint under his given name. And while the 'Sequential' EP received plays and support from the likes of Max Cooper, Deetron, Vince Watson, Steve Rachmad and Kate Simko, it was his 'First Shift' EP (a split release alongside Basic Soul Unit) which cemented him as one of "Singapore's fastest-rising production talent" - Beatport. The single 'Absolute' which brought him international recognition was featured on both Disclosure's and KiNK's 'Essential Mix' as well as Heidi's Residency Show on BBC Radio 1, London. A huge favourite at international clubs and festivals worldwide, 'Absolute' was played by some of the worlds most prolific djs such as Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink, Sasha, Dixon, DJ Hell and was also play listed in major international festivals such as 'Radio 1 Weekend' in Ushuaia, Ibiza, 'Wavefront' in Chicago, 'Dimension' in Croatia and 'Timewarp' in Amsterdam among others. The International press was also quick to pick up on the buzz surrounding the single, DJ Times, America gave it the coveted 'Track Of The Month' in it's November, 12 Issue while De:Bug Mag in Germany featured it in it's Top 10 Album of the Month. Lee Foss of 'Hot Natured' then went on to list it as his 'Top 5' future tracks on Stoney Roads and AUS Music duo 'Dusky' round up the year as they include 'Absolute' in their Best Of 'Top 10' For 2013 among other various glowing reviews on music portals such as Resident Advisor, XLR8, Ibiza Voice and Truants. In between remixes for Andreas Saag and Iron Curtis, 2015 saw Eddie establishing himself as a producer who continues to display a diverse sound that amalgamates a wide range of influences from the finest deep house to peak time mainroom cuts with the release of his 'The Journey' ep. The release went on to become an early favourite with a wide variety of forward thinking DJs such as Laurent Garnier & Dixon, festival favourites Riva Starr & Sasha to techno stalwarts Dubfire & Len Faki. Shadow Child debuted the lead single 'City 2 City' on his Rinse FM show while 'THUMP' premiered the emotive synthy 'Where Do We Go From Here' and Dutch legend Michel De Hey loved the Chicago/Detroit-inspired 'The Warehouse' so much that he decided to license and re-release it alongside an exclusive remix to re-launch his beloved HEY! imprint this summer. 'The Journey' ep was also listed as Ibiza Voice 'Essential' release of the month, made it to Magnetic magazine 'Top 10' House chart and was exclusively featured alongside a glowing review on Germany's leading provider of quality electronic music whatpeopleplay. An integral member of the Midnight Shift events and label of the same name since it's inception, Eddie continues to be a regular performer for various parties at home headlining alongside DJs such as Recondite, Deetron, Redshape, Mike Huckaby and KiNK. 2016 looks set to be an even more exciting year ahead for him as he launches his own Integrity Records imprint expanding further his love for electronic music as he looks forward to continue making his mark globally. ***** Contact:.
