  • Producer of Dance Music since mid 80s, founder of a classic house music label - Bottom Line Records in 1990, famous for it's New Jersey / New York house sound.
    Ed The Red (who's real name is Edward Goltsman) started his music education at age 6 and continued at Berklee College of Music. In the 80s he worked as a professional keyboard player in NY with funk, jazz, gospel and top 40 bands. At that time he also started producing records. The first few singles that he produced were gospel and hip-hop, but after he was introduced to New York's dance club scene, he started writing and producing house music with successful releases on labels like Emergency, Atlantic, Select, Mic Mac, Jump Street, Supertronics, Quark, Sutra and others.At the same time he started DJing and doing guest appearances at clubs around New York City. In 1990 Ed started his own label, Bottom Line Records, that quickly became a household name among lovers of Garage House Music. O.D.C "My mind is going", Flow "Another time", Vivian Lee "Music is so wonderful", Barbara Dixon "It's alright" and "Wanna be your lover" and a number of other releases became a representation of what soulful, jazzy, deep house music was all about. There were 78 releases on Bottom Line Records of which Ed produced about 60. On many releses he teamed up with DJ Nelson "Paradise" Roman and together they had produced some of the classic Bottom Line jams that are still played to this day by many DJs around the world. Other releases on the label were productions from iconic house music names like Lenny Fontana, Burrell brothers, Moore Classic Wall, Jerzzey Boy, MJ White among others. After taking a several year break from the music business Ed brought back his unique and soulful sound in 2016 and every release since then wound up high on the Soul Chart's with his single "Summer is the coldest season" reaching the #2 position on the UK Soul Chart in 2017 and his album "I got the music in me" at #2 in February 2018.
