- It was in his 8th grade year where Emkay discovered his love for DJing. Starting off his career with two friends, Emkay invested in two Stanton turntables and a Behringer mixer. Dedicated to his new hobby, Emkay would spend endless hours reading manual..It was in his 8th grade year where Emkay discovered his love for DJing. Starting off his career with two friends, Emkay invested in two Stanton turntables and a Behringer mixer. Dedicated to his new hobby, Emkay would spend endless hours reading manuals, online articles and watching videos on how he could improve his technique. Emkay has been influenced by the sounds of famous DJ’s such as Laidback Luke, Afrojack and Steve Angello. Since the age of 14, Emkay has been striving to become a world famous DJ and has become one of Miami’s most sought after DJ’s. His ability to blend new flavors with familiar sounds has made him a crowd favorite and an icon in the Miami high school community. At only 17, Emkay has obtained several residencies at 18 and over clubs such as Reno’s and Flavour. Rocking the house rooms at these clubs, Emkay has quickly become a fan favorite and is receiving offers to hold residencies at other clubs daily. In addition to his weekly sets, Emkay has DJ’d in clubs such as Tabu, Kafee Krystal, Nocturnal,The Cove, Reno’s and Flavour. He has played alongside of DJ’s such as y100’s Cato K and other local DJ’s such as Elements, McMahon and Fresko. Emkay’s growing fan base and widespread popularity has led him to become a member of various Miami’s local event crews. Emkay is also building up his own promotional team in order to obtain even more popularity and draw more numbers to the scene. He has planned several events on his own such as Snow 2010 @ Flavour and First of the Month at Tabu which have attracted more than 2,000 people respectively. Emkay’s ability to please every crowd and synthesize every genre has made him versatile behind the decks and vital to the success of any party. One of Miami’s house pioneers, Emkay has created his own Podcast called “Dirty House” and consists of 3 volumes which can be downloaded on iTunes. The podcast has a total of 15,000 downloads and has been one of Podomatic.com’s most downloaded podcast every month , meaning that the love for house is quickly spreading through Emkay’s mixes. To further his promotion of House music, Emkay holds weekly live-streaming sets where viewers can tune into Emkay’s sounds from the comfort of their homes. Emkay’s young career is full of successes and accomplishments but knowing his personality, he won’t settle for anything. Slowly moving up in the Miami Club Scene, Emkay will soon turn 18 and have further opportunities to DJ on a higher stage. At this rate, the sky is the limit for Miami’s DJ Emkay and this young pioneer of House music will one day be rocking the main stage, whether it be at Ultra Music Festival, or Ibiza.
