- Enkō is an explorer of ambience and rhythm. Founder of SUMMA and OCASO, Basilar Festival resident and former member of Hayes Collective.Very much driven by an incessant quest for fluidity and immersion, Enkō’s locked groove style blends the classic school with contemporary techno to create a deep yet rhythmically rich performance. The Basilar Festival resident runs the SUMMA cult party with co-host CRAVO and, as the event gains significant recognition within Lisbon's nightlife, it showcases a groovier side of techno, attracting a vibrant and diverse crowd. Enkō's contributions to the electronic music movement in Portugal extend beyond performing and curatorship however, seeing him release music through labels such as HAYES, AWRY or SUBOSC to name a few. His involvement with the community runs deeper though and includes label management, event production, broadcasting, and copywriting for various dance music projects. In the half-decade he spent studying music technology and sound design in Leeds, in the UK, he developed and finessed his sound as he was exposed to a booming music culture, so diverse and multicultural as the country itself. This melting pot and its ever-changing dynamics played a significant role in shaping his attitude and sound, leading him to collaborate at various festivals and events such as Latitude, Leeds Festival, and SHHH_IFT. Upon returning to Portugal, he established OBRA, OCASO, SUMMA, and techno label HAYES Collective – all of which collaborative platforms for artists from diverse fields. Having performed at numerous clubs and for plenty of promoters, Enkō has maintained a special affiliation with Gare Porto throughout the years and has performed at top-level venues and festivals in his homeland, such as Lux Frágil, Indústria, Outra Cena, Boom Festival, Freedom Festival, Forte Festival, Waking Life, Lisb-On Jardim Sonoro and others.̸EPs 2024.
