  • ? FABIO TETI How to descipe this young exuberant talent , that doesn't belong to any precise musical trend. He believes that music is his language , and each set is the expression of a period of your life.
Fabio Teti (Aperitivo, Uberbeat) Born and raised in Naples in 1988, Italian DJ Fabio Teti casts an undeniable shadow of extravagance around him. A childhood spent dipping his mischievous fingers into every pot of music that he could find, feeding a hunger for musical diversity that stays with him to this day. Experimenting with whatever mixing equipment he could get his hands on during his teenage years, Fabio began to fall in love with the idea of combining his varied list of musical inspiration to form a succession of sounds and tones more affiliated with him and his ideas. From the legend of Louis Armstrong, to Bob Sinclair’s contagious melodic grooves, Manu Chao’s genre bending works and into Ricardo Villalobos and Paul Kalkbrenner’s genius Electronic productions, these early influences stay with this Artist today. Years of travelling around Europe’s music festivals and spending summers in Ibiza playing at various after parties, 2007 eventually saw Fabio land in London. A couple of years later, ‘Aperitivo’ was born, a project focused on showcasing the unique sounds of who he believes to be the up and coming talents that surround us alongside leaders of the Electronic music scene. ‘Aperitivo’ has gone from strength to strength since 2009, collaborating with Minimal Carnival and ‘CTRL_ALT_DEL’ to host monthly parties in various locations including East London’s infamous TBar. Aperitivo’s creator has played host to, and as resident, played alongside, names such as Los Updates, Frivolous, Mendo, Cesar Merveille, Seuil, Italoboyz, Mark Ashken, Luciano Esse and Pablo Cahn. Fabio Teti has also played for Kubicle, Minimal Carnival, Lo*kee, Make Me, Click and CTRL_ALT_DEL as well as warming up for Lee Curtiss and Pier Bucci amongst others. Fabio’s style has an admirably honest approach to it. Track lists that a conventional ‘Techno’ DJ would rarely play are often seen in his sets, an archive of music coming to the dance floor in a realm of eccentric sound and movement - his expressionism. It’s pretty rare in tech/house based music to find someone who doesn’t bow down to popularity and charts. Simply put – Fabio Teti doesn’t give a f**k if you agree with him and his musical taste or not. The power of sound, its universal ability to take us to so many places as individuals or as a collective remain his fascination. Showcasing a personal journey and strong belief in what he loves, his music is as eclectic as the man behind it. Deep rolling bass lines, upbeat kicks and Techno high hats ride with House and Disco elements in his DJ sets. Turn the page and we see another more gentle side in his production. Iberian Folk and gypsy inspired guitar solo’s entwine themselves with intricate strings producing ambience that isn’t immediately obvious. Complimented by gentle percussion and jazz rooted brass together they find some kind of melodic balance, sitting on top of a steady groove and bass continuously lifting us up. 2010 see’s Fabio’s ideas as a producer come to life and an upcoming release with long term friend and collaborator Mark Ashken on Gedde’s UK label ‘Murmur’ is currently in production. A remix for Rhythmatic resident Silky on ‘Uberbeat’ is also due for release in June as well as the continued life of ‘Aperitivo’.
