- Joris Feiertag is a Dutch producer and live-act from Utrecht in the Netherlands who makes music that is a finely balanced combination of organic and synthesized elements.He has received support from DJs and tastemakers across the globe including Kruder & Dorfmeister, Groove Armada & The Knocks; has been hailed as “the future” by DJ Mag and received playlist status on The Netherland’s national radio station. His live shows are famed for their high energy and have seen Feiertag play alongside The Chemical Brothers at AFAS Live and at festivals such as Down The Rabbit Hole and ADE. With releases coming thick and fast on the Majestic Casual, Last Night On Earth and Kitsune imprints, as well as showing his ability to work with vocalists, such as soulful Manchester born singer-songwriter Pip Millett, Feiertag soon carved out a unique niche for himself, all the while fine tuning his sound and immersing himself in musical influences such as Bonobo, Mount Kimbie and Caribou. 2021 saw the release of Feiertag’s debut album, Time To Recover, via his new home, Sonar Kollektiv. The album mixed Joris’ now trademark sound with a hand-picked selection of guest vocalists, including British multi-hyphenate artist James Alexander Bright and label mate Pete Josef. It was warmly received, with Fazemag calling it “A manifold listening experience" and I Am Cru describing it as the "Album of the summer”. It even had a track featured on the FIFA22 game, such was its global reach. Remixes followed from world renowned producers like Session Victim, Jimpster and Kyodai, but even after such universal success, Joris was still looking for new challenges. His following release, the Dive mini-album, dropped in early in 2022, also on Sonar Kollektiv. A more intense, breakbeat driven affair, it received support from radio stations, DJs and tastemakers across the globe including Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM, Backseat Mafia, Kid Fonque, Roger Sanchez, LUXXURY and Greg Wilson. It wasn’t long, though, before Feiertag felt the need to redress the balance in his music once again, and this time he did so with his third offering, Roots. As well as being an LP that draws on the sources of Joris’ musical journey, it’s also one that sits in a space somewhere between the song driven sensibilities of the first album and the darker, electronic feel of the second. The LP features a plethora of vocalists from across the globe including Afro-futuristic U.S. hip hop outfit OSHUN; Berlin based Noah Slee; young spoken word artist from London, Nego True; Rotterdam based Robin Kester; Guinea born Falle Nioke and Tru Thoughts recording artist Rhi.
