The Flash Brothers are an Israeli trio that broke into the UK market under the name FLASH with the release of 'The Day After/Megatron' through Perfecto last October 2001 (included in Perfecto presents Paul Oakenfold Ibiza 2001 & Perfectos recent triple Best of Perfecto ….). The 3 brothers - Ruven, Ilan and Shmuel Flaishler, are from the isolated town of Nazareth in Israel, but there's no room for sibling rivalry in this trio as they all share the same passion for producing. Their venture into the world of dance music first started when one of the brothers studied sound at the leading school of music in Tel-Aviv, another in computers and, the last, in clubs, labels and DJing. It was only a matter of time before they set up their own studio. Their big break came five years ago when they finally met their hero DJ Choopie, who influenced what they were doing in the studio, and eventually signed them to his label Agnosia Records. Their first track, 'Bordeaux', was released on Agnosia's local artist's compilation 'House of Babylon', soon followed by 'Sahara', which featured on the 'Dance & Levi's' festival compilation alongside Juno Reactor, 808 State, and Prodigy. Real success came two years ago when one of Flash's earlier productions 'Amazonas' (a hybrid of Israeli-Dutch-European styles) was signed worldwide to Germany's Dos or Die (Zomba) and backed by DJs such as; Scott Bond, John Kelly, Brandon Block and Graham Gold, to name a few. The brothers' careers are expanding tremendously with a second single coming out this summer through Perfecto - "Closing Session/the day after remix" - already in Oakeys top 10 tunes…and supported by Nick Warren and others. Further releases that have recently just come out (under different production names) are:- ·The Flash Brothers - "Hazy March/Captured" - via Hooj Choons with remixes by Joshua Collins & llls - which entered no. 15 in the UK dance charts the first week it was released. ·Shmoo - "Sophistacted/Afrom Doom" - via Black/Bedrock just released in April ·The Flash brothers - "Protect the Sense" - unreleased track featured non-exclusively in John Digweeds recent Bedrock compilation MMII ·The Flash brothers - "Sarcasm" unreleased track non-exclusively in Global Undegrounds GU022 recent compilation Dave Seaman - Melbourne The two dj/prodcuers from the DC-metro area …Saeed & Palash have recently signed two tracks of the Flashers "Global Tribe" & "Night Tellers" for their successful US label Addictive Records. The Brothers have just finished an amazing remix for Cass & Slide - Havoc that will be released at the end of June. Under their different production names, their production methods are quite different in every case, as for the Shmoo productions, the brain behind this act is the younger brother Shmuel Flash (a.k.a. Deep Amok, Sam-u-l) , he is responsible for writing and producing and the two other brothers for the arrangement and mixing. You'll notice that these are more more dark and spacey, as for the other productions, the style is more uplifting progressive house. Shmuel's solo career is expanding in all directions with different production styles and methods, under various names, 'Deep Amok - Shades / Darkness' Black Records/Bedrock, included in the recent React compilation of Anthony Papa. Deep Amok's remix for 'O.B.A (Oxygen Breathing Apparatus) - Noah's Ark Black/Bedrock Records was also included in the this compilation. Shmuel Flash will be coming out in July with Chilling Moments, a track that everyone was talking about in Miami, packaged with two Bedrock remixes - this track will be included in Perfecto presents Hernan Cattaneo, and in Satoshi's Nubreed compilation, this track is strongly supported by John Digweed, Nick Warren, Jimmy van M, Desyn Masiello and many others. Additionally, Shmuel Flash & Guy Baranes - "Spanish Tales" will soooon be out on Deep Dish's label Yoshitoshi……. Strongly supported by Deep Dish & Danny Tenaglia…. To be included in Steve Lawlers upcoming Global Underground triple CD, along side "Generate" yet another great production by this promising gifted producer.
