- Francesco's dj set encompasses minimal, house and techno with a touch of his 90s style - all backed by 26 years of music production.Francesco Passantino is an Italian DJ and music producer known for his eclectic sets that span across minimal, house, and techno, with a touch of his 90s style, backed by 26 years of music production. Ever since he was a child, he has been drawn to music, particularly film soundtracks, which unconsciously brought him closer to electronic music. However, his true passion bloomed and materialized in the 90s when he started DJing during Sunday afternoon club parties. In 1996, he entered the music world. From 1996 to 1998, he worked as a DJ in various clubs and special events in Italy, particularly in Liguria and Tuscany (Cocoricò, Insomnia, Imperiale, Red Zone, The West). In 1999, together with three dear friends, Francesco Passantino, Davide Cali, and Robo, they founded "Air Kraft Vision," a progressive and tech-house live-act based on MIDI sequences created and mixed live using recording studio devices. This marked the beginning of their performances at the most prestigious clubs in Italy, from north to south. In the same year, Francesco started releasing his own music productions on vinyl. The 90s were a vibrant time for music, characterized by collaborations and friendships that soon turned into fruitful projects. Some examples include Paskkal and SpostaMenti. In 2003, he became a member of "SpostaMenti" ("Moving-Minds"), a project created by Francesco Zappalà for his first live act at the Distorsione Future Music Festival in Bologna. In 2004, Francesco Passantino founded his own studio, Laboraudio, and created his label, "Tractorecords," which he still manages today with his friends Francesco Zappalà and Giosuè Impellizzeri. The preferred music genres are tech-house and minimal techno, collaborating with various foreign labels and artists. During this time, he also started working with important artists like Steve Stoll and Groove Rebels. As a producer associated with the context of minimal techno and tech-house, Francesco crossed borders, reaching Germany with releases on Whirlpoolsex Music and Keno Records (the latter including the successful "Monosynth" with the Kollektiv Turmstrasse remix). His ongoing collaboration with the German label Interklang allowed him to play in renowned clubs throughout Germany, where he was invited as a DJ. Additionally, he collaborated with Sabrina Carnevale and Sonartek and had a regular presence on the radio show Soundzrise broadcasted by the Italian radio station M2O. At the end of 2010, Francesco got in touch with artists from Berlin, and in 2011, he co-created a summer event at Delano Beach in Ibiza with Francesco Zappalà. In 2012, after gigs at Arena Club, he decided to move to Berlin, where he gained an important weekly residency at Eschschloraque. During that time, he worked on recording projects with Sabrina Carnevale and Dino Lenny. In Berlin, Francesco Passantino founded Round Qube Musik together with Gabriele Carasco. Round Qube Musik is a vinyl-only label specializing in producing vinyl records. To date, they have released 18 records, some of which have achieved worldwide success. Gabriele Carasco, in addition to being one of the artists, is also responsible for mastering for the label. During 2012, already established in Berlin, Francesco also began regularly performing at parties hosted by various clubs in the German capital, including Club der Visionäre, Hoppetosse, ://about blank, and Chalet. However, it was Club der Visionäre that significantly marked his musical journey and sound, thanks to numerous collaborations with many international artists. In 2016, Francesco embarked on the venture of vinyl production, founding Vinyl2Go, a company specializing in custom-made vinyl pressings in small quantities for every music genre. He also opened Berliner Vinyl Werk, a small record store. In 2021, the Resilience Groove project was born, a live act consisting of four artists, currently hosted by Club der Visionäre.
