Oh, those summer nights... During some big time-bad ass-wild partying at Bremen's former freight depot, now techno party hotspot, in the summer of 2000, Maurice Dulz and Jörg Fischer developped a musical crush on each other. Quicker than you could say "chill-out", their project Goldfish + der Dulz was born and has been prospering ever since. Maurice has been DJ-ing for the last decade or so, Jörg knows how to get the right sound out of those blinking computers. And honestly speaking, Maurice can only be seen as a musical pioneer: he already preffered those clicks and ticktacks, when the rest of planet Techno was still wearing the uniform of trousers like tents. Wunderkind Jörg on the other hand, has been handling almost every kind of musical instrument since the tender age of ten. The musical destination Goldfish and his Dulz wanted to take was set from the very beginning: funky, yet reduced electronic music, delicatly laced with a soft melody. The two wizards had been playing together for just a short while, when the first tracks attrected interest and were released by the label "Playhouse". Soon, there will be a new release! EPs on Moon Harbour followed, on Boxer Sport, Dance Electric and many other labels. Apart from that, Goldfish + der Dulz featured on many compilations by Esel, Sub-Static and Ware. One of the numerous fans is John Peel, the BBC-Godfather of Music who featured a title by Goldfish + der Dulz in his legandary show. The collaboration with Boxer-Sport puts a spakle into the duo's eye. The contact was knit behind the scenes of the musical cirucus. Maurice was then working in his record store "Pentagon" and Peta was working as a distributor for Kompakt. It all started out while dealing with electronic music, they got to like each other and soon the first two maxi singles were released. The second lucky bit was lying literaly at the duo's doorstep- the "Plantage 13"-connection from Bremen. After the marvellous release of "Rebelman" on Plantage's label "Dance Electric" by Jan Langer and Oliver Huntemann, the way for Goldfish + der Dulz's own label "Hi Freaks" was quickly paved. Now, after a year, "Hi Freaks" has a whole record case full of brilliant releases with artists like Piemont, White Trash aka Larsson, Chaim, Axel Bartsch and, of course, Goldfish + der Dulz. But the creative potential only starts to get tickled. There are upcoming exciting new signings along with two completely new projects: Djane "Karolin" from Bremen and the Trio goldfish + der dulz vs. laszlo. In 2008 the circle will be closed- the first maxi to be released with Playhouse since 5 years. And who knows what will come next.
