As producer, Haiku really loves analog and modular syste..Born in 1991 and grown in Lecce, a small town in Apulia, Southern Italy, Haiku dedicated his entire youth to discover music and rhythms. Having cultivated his passion side by side to local mentors, who introduced him to variegated musical genres - from popular, hip hop and trip hop to electronic and house music - Haiku has been getting attracted by many musical realities before abandoning himself to the techno impulse: Massive Attack, Radiohead, Tricky, Regis and Mike Parker are among the names that mostly influenced his musical growth. This led him to apply himself at producing music since his adolescence, getting familiar with digital techniques with Logic and Ableton as a start, and analog modular systems in the second place. Having studied synthesis and sound engineering, his conception of groove comes from a detailed treatment of specific sounds, both in production and dj set, never sticking to combining basic, simple elements together. From 2012, he developed his label management, producer and DJ skills, constantly looking for new sources of inspiration. Between 2012 and 2013 he founded Raw Waxes and Inkblots, vinyl-only labels with solid musical concepts, aiming to shape his vision by releasing rising and renowned artists – involving a consistent part of his favourite IDM and Techno artists like Stanislav Tolkachev, Mike Parker, The Noisemaker, Inigo Kennedy and many others. As a producer, Haiku translates his curiosity and will of innovation into syncopated attention to details. His own releases appeared on the Industrial techno label BTE with a remix from Donor; switching to his own Inkblots, he recently set up a split EP alongside his personal legend Mike Parker; ending up with Out-ER, for which he already remixed the Dutch Orlando Voorn, he will contribute to the label’s 5th Year Anniversary Compilation, side by side respectable house and techno artists. In the last two years, Haiku has been showcasing his Techno DJ vision with a certain perseverance, playing records as resident DJ for underground iconic realities like STAUB, Berlin platform which never announces lineup, and the Italian event Knick Knack, taking place in private villas turned into clubs for one night. Focusing on the purist side of Techno, Haiku loves blending minimal-orientated, soulful stomping tracks characterized by a pulsating dramaturgy vibe.
