- Heliotype is on a mission to create a new sound in dance music. Easily said, but this man is actually achieving his goal in a big way.Taking elements of house, garage and jungle, then fusing them with beautiful vocals and pensive chord arrangements, the Belfast-based producer curates a sonic palette of Balearic bass - this is feel-good, melodic music for the club, the beach or the headphones with a distinctive Ibizan edge. Bursting onto the scene with 'Saying Nothing' on D:Vision, followed by releases on Anjunadeep, Armada, Nervous, Toolroom and Exploited, Heliotype garnered major support from across the worldwide DJing and dance radio community, including multiple spins on BBC Radio 1 with Cool Cuts and Buzz Chart entries. He returns this summer with a stunning Balearic treatment of his recently released track ’Someone Like You’, specifically created for the latest Armada Records CEO (Chill Executive Officer) album from Maykel Piron. This unmissable edit sees Cathy Battistessa’s heartfelt vocal remain front and centre as a blissed-out house groove joins forces with live guitar in a classic Ibiza sunset vibe. The credentials of this fast-rising DJ are strengthened further by his skills as a radio presenter, as evidenced by the call coming from BBC Radio 1 to sit in for Pete Tong.
