  • Impulsion was a side project of Christophe Monier (aka The Micronauts) in duet with DJ Pascal R, active during the 90s.
In France, the band was associated with the French Touch movement. One of his songs was featured on the seminal compilation “Aline Can Dance” and its sleeves were created by the world famous design agency M/M Paris. In the UK, the group was also associated with the Big Beat movement. Two EPs were released on Brighton-based Loaded Records. The track “Rock That House Musiq” became an anthem on the emerging scene. It served years later as the soundtrack to a memorable sequence in Michael Dowse movie “It's All Gone Pete Tong” (2004). At the same time in London, The Chemical Brothers were hammering another Impulsion track, “Higher Hard Instrumental”, which they make their own with an edit titled “Clenched Fist”. In 1998 is released the album “Love Addict” on Small, a division of Sony France. It is reissued the following year by the UK label Independiente. It was one of the albums of the week in NME and boasted a laudatory review by journalist Piers Martin.
