- Jack Byrne, Hong Kong based Londoner & former resident at the infamous Midnight & Co. has been going from strength to strength over the past few years. Cutting his teeth at Drop, already recognised as one of Hong Kong's top late night house music spots..The soundtrack to Jack's childhood consisted primarily of Chicago house and early rave cassette tapes with a healthy dose of pirate radio to the backdrop of London in the early 90s. These were the sounds which eventually help him sculpt his style when the time came. Fast forward nineteen years, now a young bar tender in Hong Kong it didn't take long before long Jack had set up his first event; Subliminal Criminals which would occur monthly on a Wednesday at Drop, drawing in weekend-worthy crowds. With the success of Subliminal Criminals Jack gained his first residency at the newly opened club Midnight & Co. Jack's time at Midnight saw him doing his first warmup gigs for numerous international guest acts. Under the tutelage of the venue's head honcho, Dan F and being influenced by Midnight's remaining four residents, Jack's style and skill set were tested and re-shaped giving him a wider knowledge and respect for not just music, but venues, setups, crowds and nightlife as a whole. After Midnight & Co. closed it's doors at end of 2013 Jack has been spreading his name around the city via different mediums. Going back to his roots and embracing the revival of old school UK & NY/NJ House he is one of the founding members of Hummingbird which is a vast collective of Hong Kong DJ's all of whom share a passion towards UK Centric dance music. Aside from regular club nights at venues such as Oma, Basement & Social Room, Jack's name has been regularly billed at Hong Kong's top music festivals; Clockenflap, Secret Island Party, Schweinehund Teknival & The Kollektiv Warehouse Party and signings with both Cliché & Typhoon 8 Records.̸Hocus Focus - Single [Typhoon 8 Records] 2015
