  • With a passion for nearly all things techno it's now wonder James' mixing style ranges from the trippy hypnotic to the industrial thunderous tones. Trying to create a journey through his mixes that not only makes you moves you physically but emotional..
My love for electronic music stems back all the way to the early 90's when I was just ten, listening to my cousins rave tapes that was my first exposure to electronic music. Since then my journey of the electronic spectrum has been a long one that has traversed many genres. In 2003 I decided to buy my first set of decks and start practicing the craft I love so much. In my early mixing days I was mixing everything from trance, hard house and techno. Fast forward to 2006 and I decide its time to just concentrate on one style of music, techno. Drawing influences from the likes of Sven Vath, Chris Liebing, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer and Speedy J to name just a few. My sound flows from the twisted minimal dubbed grooves to the more heavy industrial beats. In 2006 i turned my attention to digital dj'ing, first with cdj's then to Serato scratch live and now my set up is based around Traktor Pro, honing my craft to blend and layer tracks rather than just "straight" mixing. In my short dj career i have played some of the Uk's biggest venues including Air (Birmingham), The Emporium (Coalville), Sankeys (Manchester), The Rainbow (Birmingham) and the infamous Public Life in London to name but a few. Also on a trip to Ibiza in 2008 i played the Ibiza Rocks Hotel and Kanya beach bar. In early 2009 I hooked up with Clubbed Up radio where alongside Danny Roberts we moved the already established show to a more accessible podcast format. Over the last two years we have had some of the scenes biggest players featuring on the guest mix, everyone from the likes of Chris Liebing, Speedy J, Robert Hood, Surgeon, Cari Lekebusch, Jesper Dahlback, Joel Mull to some of the scenes best up and coming talents and earning us thousands of downloads a week. At the moment the show is on hold while both Danny and I concentrate on solo studio projects. 2010 i turned my attention to producing where with Pavello we produced tracks that ranged from deep house, tech house to techno which earned them support from the likes of Carl Cox, Joris Voorn, Roger Sanchez, Hertz and Laurent Garnier.
